Perez Hilton takes 'important next step' in recovery

Perez Hilton's mother has been granted temporary custody of his three children as he enters a residential treatment program for the sake of his mental health.  The troubled blogger - whose real name is Mario Armando Lavandeira Jr - is recovering under the care of doctors after self-harming in a disturbing TikTok livestream from his Miami home on August 4.. In a statement on Hilton's website on Monday, his family confirmed that he had checked in as an inpatient in "an important next step" of his recovery, and was expected to stay there for several weeks.  As he recovers, Hilton's children Mario, 13, Mia, 11, and Mayte, eight, are being looked after by their grandmother, Teresita Lavandeira.. "His three children remain together, safe, and doing well in the care of their grandmother, who has stepped in to care for them full-time during this unexpected chapter," the statement said.  "Our family's priority continues to be giving them as much stability, routine, and 'normalcy' as possible while their dad focuses on his recovery..

We are incredibly grateful for everything their grandmother is doing for them.. "Three children came frighteningly close to losing their father forever.. There is nothing funny or entertaining about that." As Hilton his treated as an inpatient, he does not have any access to his phone or laptop.  Instead, it's up to his friends and family to contact him, so that "he can focus fully on getting better"..
