This was the goal of Gurdeep Singh when he decided he wanted to establish his own audiology clinic..

After much planning, he has, with Earport Audiology opening its main clinic in Glendale and another clinic in Charlestown, plus visiting Bulahdelah once a week.. "We have a dedicated room for paediatric hearing tests to perform tests like VROA [visual reinforcement audiometry], BOA [behavioural observation audiometry] and play audiometry," Mr Singh said.. "For adult hearing tests, we are able to test all three parts of the ears individually so we can either point you in the right direction or offer tailored solutions." Importantly, the clinics are independent providers, which means they have access to hearing aids and related products from multiple manufacturers..

The clinics also provide services such as LACE pro which is an auditory training program.. Tinnitus assessments and custom rehabilitation plans are available too.. "We also provide Microsuction - a gentle way for taking wax out of ears," Mr Singh said..

His vision for the clinics, he said, is "To be the trusted destination for lifelong hearing wellness and connection, and to build a community where hearing health is proactive, destigmatised and recognised as essential to overall wellbeing and quality of life." The goal is to also help people save money.. Referrals are not necessary for a hearing test, but to receive Medicare rebates for diagnostic assessments you do require a valid referral from a GP or specialist.. The clinic can also help eligible people access the Australian Government Hearing Services Program which provides free or subsidised hearing aids (conditions apply to eligible voucher holders)..
