Here's why speed cameras alone won't protect pedestrians

I must disagree with Harold Scruby ("Speed, spin cameras and why signage defeats the purpose", Opinion, 20/3).. Speed cameras only work because drivers all slow down when they see the signs.. With no signs, they would get caught and fined more often, but they would still travel at the same speed..

What's the point of that?.
